A parable is an illustrative story with the purpose of conveying a moral or spiritual lesson given by Jesus Christ in the Gospels.
The Parable of the Prodigal Son, also known as The Parable of the Two Sons or the Lost Son is one of the parables of Jesus. It appears in only one of the books of the New Testament, the Gospel of Luke 15:11-32, in which a father gives his two sons his inheritance before he dies.
